About the Competitor Content Gap Finder
Competitors get cited for questions you have no page for. Enter your website and up to two competitors, and we read their sitemaps, turn each page address into a topic and match them. You get the topics and formats they cover that you do not, ranked by priority: comparisons, cost guides, "best" lists and how-tos rank higher because AI answers quote them most, and topics both competitors cover, or updated recently, rank higher still. Each gap comes with the type of page to create and a working title, plus the topics only you cover.
How it works
-
Step 1
Enter your website and one or two competitor websites.
-
Step 2
We read up to 500 pages from each sitemap and match the topics.
-
Step 3
Start with the high-priority gaps: each one has the page type and a working title.
How topics are matched
From page addresses: "/blog/local-seo-cost-india/" becomes "Local SEO cost India". Topics match when they share most of their words, ignoring filler and format words. A topic you cover in another format, for example a guide but no cost page, is shown as a format gap.
What it cannot see
Page addresses do not show everything a page covers, and sites without a sitemap cannot be read. The tool also cannot see which competitor pages AI answers actually cite. Use the AI Citation Gap Checker to compare two pages in depth.
Frequently asked questions
Which competitors should I enter?
The sites AI answers and Google name for your main services, not only your direct rivals. Publishers and directories that get cited are worth checking too.
Why does it read sitemaps instead of crawling?
A sitemap lists every page a site wants found, in seconds and without loading the site. Most CMSs, including WordPress, create one automatically.
What if my site has no sitemap?
You still get the competitors' topics, but we cannot tell what you already cover. Add a sitemap: it also helps search engines and AI crawlers find your pages.
