A researched calendar, not a forecast

  • Festival and holiday dates come from the Government of India holiday lists and Drik Panchang, monsoon dates from the IMD, and exam and tax dates from NTA, CBSE and the Income Tax Department.
  • Free tools do not show real search demand, so every date links to Google Trends for your product and state.
  • Nothing you enter is sent to us: the calendar is built in your browser.

About the India Seasonal Content Calendar

Diwali, the wedding season, Navratri, Eid, admission time, the monsoon and the March year-end change what people in India search for and buy. Choose your industry and city and get a 12-month calendar of the dates that matter for your business, each with the day to publish content, the day to plan Google Ads budgets, content ideas and the questions people ask. Dates come from the Government of India holiday lists, Drik Panchang and the IMD. It is a researched calendar, not a demand forecast, so each date links to Google Trends to check real interest.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Choose your industry and city. Add your main product or service if you want the Google Trends links to use it.

  2. Step 2

We list the festivals, seasons and deadlines in the next 12 months that matter for your business and state, each with a date to publish content and, for the big ones, a date to plan Google Ads budgets.

  3. Step 3

Add the dates to Google Calendar or Outlook, or download them as CSV, and check each big date in Google Trends before you spend.

What the calendar covers

National and regional festivals, gifting days, sale days, the wedding season, the monsoon, exams and admissions, and tax deadlines, from this month for the next 12 months. Each date is matched to your industry and state: Onam shows for Kerala, Chhath for Bihar and Jharkhand, and the monsoon date is the India Meteorological Department's normal onset date for your city, where we have it.

How the dates and lead times are set

Holidays come from the Government of India lists for 2026 and 2027, other Hindu festival dates from Drik Panchang, monsoon dates from the IMD, exam dates from NTA and CBSE, and tax dates from the Income Tax Department. Publish-by dates count back from each date: six weeks for Diwali, four for most big festivals and eight for the wedding season, exams and admissions, when people plan early. These lead times are our suggestions.

What this tool cannot do

It cannot measure demand. It does not include search volumes, marketplace sale dates or events in your area, and how much each date matters for your industry is our judgement, not data. Lunar festival dates can differ by a day between calendars, Eid dates depend on the moon, and exam dates not yet announced are estimated from last year. Check demand in Google Trends and in your own sales.

Frequently asked questions

When should I publish festival content?

Early enough for search engines to find the page and for people to plan. We suggest four to six weeks before big shopping festivals such as Diwali, and about three weeks before smaller occasions. Google suggests adjusting Google Ads budgets and targets 4 to 6 weeks before a peak season. Update the same page every year rather than starting a new one each time.

Does this tool show search volume for each festival?

No. Free tools do not give exact search volumes, so this is a researched calendar of dates, not a demand forecast. To see real patterns, open the Google Trends link for your product and state, which shows five years of search interest, or check Keyword Planner in Google Ads, where you can choose a month range to see a season's average monthly searches.

How accurate are the festival dates?

Holiday dates come from the Government of India lists for 2026 and 2027, and other Hindu festival dates from Drik Panchang. Hindu festivals follow the lunar calendar, so some calendars differ by a day, and we note where they do. Eid and Muharram depend on the sighting of the moon, so treat those as expected dates. We add each new year once the government publishes its list.

When should I raise my Google Ads budget for Diwali?

Plan four to six weeks ahead, as Google suggests for peak seasons, raise budgets in the run-up to Dhanteras and Diwali, and bring them back afterwards. On a busy day Google Ads can spend up to twice your average daily budget, but over a month not more than 30.4 times it. For a sale of 1 to 7 days, a seasonality adjustment tells Smart Bidding to expect more conversions.

When is the wedding season in India?

There is no official date. Hindu weddings follow auspicious dates in the panchang: the season usually opens after Dev Uthani Ekadashi in November, pauses during Kharmas from mid-December to mid-January, and runs until Chaturmas begins in July. In 2026, Dev Uthani Ekadashi falls on 20 November and Kharmas begins on 16 December. Exact dates vary by family, community and region.

Rules last checked

The India Seasonal Content Calendar follows these official pages:

The first link is the Department of Personnel and Training's list of holiday orders for Central Government offices. Hindu festival dates not on those lists come from Drik Panchang, exam dates from NTA and CBSE notices and tax dates from the Income Tax Department; the publish-by lead times are our suggestions.
