About the Sale Poster and Shop Banner Maker

Choose what the poster is for: a sale, new arrivals, a festival offer, shop timings, "we accept UPI" or "now on WhatsApp". Edit the ready words in English, Hindi or Hinglish, add your shop name, address, phone and logo, and add a QR code that opens a UPI payment or a WhatsApp chat if you like. Pick one of six designs drawn in code, the colours and the paper: A5, A4 or A3, portrait or landscape. Print it or save it as a PDF from your browser, download a PNG, or get a 1080 × 1350 copy for social media. Our checks flag an offer without an end date or conditions, claims such as "lowest price" and a QR code with a wrong UPI ID or number. Everything runs in your browser: nothing you type and no logo is uploaded.

Paper sizes and printing

The poster is made at the exact size of the paper: A5 is 148 × 210 mm, A4 is 210 × 297 mm and A3 is 297 × 420 mm, turned to landscape if you choose. It is drawn at 200 dots per inch (150 for A3), and the same image goes to the print window and the PNG. Our suggestion: keep the thin white edge for a home printer, and turn it off when a print shop prints the PDF edge to edge.

Offers on posters must be true

ASCI's code says advertisements must be truthful and claims about facts must be capable of substantiation. The CCPA's 2022 guidelines on misleading advertisements say a disclaimer must not hide material information, and the Government of India says it should be in the same language as the claim. So print the end date and main conditions under the offer, in its language, and do not say "lowest price" or "No. 1" without proof. The CCPA's 2023 dark patterns guidelines also list false urgency, so write "limited stock" only when it is true.

What this tool cannot do

It makes the poster; it cannot check that your offer is legal, fair or kept, and its checks are our own word lists, not legal advice. The UPI check looks only at the shape of the ID, so scan the printed QR code with your own UPI app before you put it up, and check every payment in your app. The designs are drawn in code, so it cannot add photos of your products.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a shop poster be?

Our suggestion: A4 (210 × 297 mm) for a door, counter or window, as any home printer takes it; A3 (297 × 420 mm), twice the area of A4, for a wall or a window seen from the street, printed at a print shop; and A5 (148 × 210 mm) for a counter stand or billing desk. The tool makes all three, portrait or landscape, plus a 1080 × 1350 copy for Instagram.

Can I add a QR code for UPI payments or WhatsApp?

Yes. Choose UPI payment and type your UPI ID, and customers scan to pay you and type the amount themselves. Or choose WhatsApp chat, and the code opens a chat with your number in the wa.me format WhatsApp describes, with a first message filled in if you write one. Scan the printed poster with a phone before you put it up.

Do I have to show the conditions of my offer on the poster?

Show the end date and the main conditions next to the offer. The CCPA's 2022 guidelines on misleading advertisements say a disclaimer must not hide material information about a claim, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 counts an advertisement that deliberately hides important information as misleading. The tool warns you when an offer has no date or conditions. This is not legal advice.

Can I put the national flag on my Independence Day sale poster?

Our designs never draw it. The Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 lists the Indian National Flag in its Schedule and bars using a listed emblem for any trade or business without the Central Government's prior permission, except as its rules allow. Write the occasion in words instead, and ask a lawyer if you are unsure.

Is anything I type or my logo uploaded?

No. Your browser draws the poster, and the print image and the PNG are made on your device. Your logo stays in this tab and is not saved. The words are kept in your browser so they are there next time, and nothing is sent to our server.
