How to use the YouTube Studio Export Analyzer

Read what the guide says

This is the YouTube Studio Export Analyzer.

Open a YouTube Studio analytics export to see top videos,

low-CTR thumbnails and what to do next.

In YouTube Studio, open Analytics, choose Advanced mode with your videos listed,

and use Export current view.

Or press Try an example to fill in sample details.

Open the file here,

or paste the table including its header row. Click "Try an example" to see a sample report first.

Read the report and work through what to do next,

starting with the titles and thumbnails it flags.

It reads the columns in your file and nothing else; it does not sign in to YouTube or use its API.

It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.

Try it free on this page.

Runs in your browser. Your file is not uploaded.

Or paste the table

Getting the export

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Analytics and choose Advanced mode.
  2. Set the date range, and make sure the table lists your videos, one per row.
  3. Use Export current view and save the file. Downloaded reports are capped at 500 rows.
  4. Open the file here. If you get a spreadsheet instead, copy the table and paste it below.

We find columns by their headings, so the order and exact names do not matter. The more of these you include, the fuller the report: video title, publish date, duration, views, engaged views, watch time, average view duration, average percentage viewed, impressions, impressions click-through rate, subscribers and likes.

Your report appears here

Open an export, paste the table, or try the example: 12 videos from FitZone Gym, Baner, Pune, a made-up channel.

About the YouTube Studio Export Analyzer

Export the table of your videos from YouTube Studio Analytics and open the file here, or paste the table. The analyzer finds the columns by their headings and shows your totals, top videos by views and by watch time, the videos that are shown often but clicked least, subscribers per 1,000 views, short videos against longer ones and the weekdays you publish, with a list of what to do next. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Step 1

In YouTube Studio, open Analytics, choose Advanced mode with your videos listed, and use Export current view.

  2. Step 2

Open the file here, or paste the table including its header row. Click "Try an example" to see a sample report first.

  3. Step 3

Read the report and work through what to do next, starting with the titles and thumbnails it flags.

What it looks for

Our checklist compares each video with the rest of your channel. A video with many impressions but a click-through rate in the bottom quarter of your channel is a candidate for a new title or thumbnail. A video with a high CTR but a low average percentage viewed may not deliver what its title promises. Videos with fewer than 100 views are left out of these comparisons, because YouTube says their CTR can vary more.

Views and engaged views

Since 24 August 2026, YouTube counts a view as soon as a video starts to play, and keeps the older count as engaged views. Impressions CTR, average view duration and retention are still based on engaged views. If your export has both columns, the analyzer uses views for rankings and engaged views where a metric is based on them.

What this tool cannot do

It reads the columns in your file and nothing else; it does not sign in to YouTube or use its API. Export formats can change, so it matches columns by their headings and tells you which it found. Downloaded reports are capped at 500 rows, and the export does not show a video's shape, so videos of 3 minutes or shorter are grouped together and may include Shorts.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export my YouTube analytics?

In YouTube Studio, open Analytics and choose Advanced mode. Set the date range, make sure the table lists your videos, then use Export current view. Downloaded reports are capped at 500 rows, so pick a date range that covers the videos you want. Open the file here, or paste the table.

Which columns does the analyzer need?

A views column and one more, such as the video title, are enough to start. Add watch time, average view duration, average percentage viewed, impressions, impressions click-through rate, subscribers, likes, duration and publish date for the full report. It matches columns by their headings, ignoring capitals, and lists what it found and what is missing.

What is a good impressions click-through rate?

YouTube says half of all channels and videos have an impressions CTR between 2% and 10%. Videos with many impressions, such as from the home page, tend to have a lower CTR, and new videos with fewer than 100 views vary more. That is why the analyzer compares each video with others on your own channel rather than with a fixed number.

Why are my views higher than impressions times CTR?

Since 24 August 2026, views count from the moment a video starts to play, while impressions CTR is based on engaged views. Impressions are also not counted on other websites and apps, the YouTube mobile website, or in email and notifications, so outside traffic adds views without adding impressions.

Is my analytics file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser and the report is worked out there; nothing is sent to DigitalSnot or to YouTube. Close the page and it is gone, unless you download the analysed table yourself.
