Fixed costs a month

Costs you pay every month whether you sell a lot or nothing: rent, salaries, software, loan EMIs, bills. Leave a row empty to skip it.

A loan EMI is cash that goes out every month, so it is counted here. Your accountant may count only its interest as an expense in your books.

What you sell

One word for what you sell. With many products, count orders and use your average order below.

Before GST. GST you collect is passed on to the government, so it is not part of your income.

Variable cost

What each sale costs you on top of the fixed costs: stock, packing, delivery, payment fees, commission.

Your goals (optional)

Profit before income tax.

For the margin of safety: how far sales can fall before you make a loss.

Scenarios side by side

What a 10% higher price, or 10% lower costs, would do to your break-even. Add your own mix of changes, for example a new trainer with a small price rise.

Your own scenario: change in %

Use a minus sign for a fall, for example -5.

To set the price itself, the Profit Margin and Markup Calculator works from your cost and the margin you want. Planning an offer? The Discount and Offer Profit Calculator shows how many more sales it needs. Selling online, the Marketplace Fee Calculator gives the break-even price for one product after fees.
