Read your Pinterest Analytics export: top Pins, save and click rates, best days, boards and a monthly summary.

For Pinterest

How to use the Pinterest Analytics Analyzer

Read what the guide says

This is the Pinterest Analytics Analyzer.

Read your Pinterest Analytics export: top Pins, save and click rates, best days,

boards and a monthly summary.

In Pinterest Analytics, choose the date range and filters, then use Export to save the CSV.

Or press Try an example to fill in sample details.

Open the file here or paste it, and check the columns the tool matched.

Read the top Pins, rates, best days and boards,

then copy the monthly summary or download the Pin table as CSV.

It cannot sign in to Pinterest or fetch your numbers: it reads the export you give it.

It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.

Try it free on this page.

The CSV from Export in Pinterest Analytics, or a table copied from a spreadsheet: one row per Pin, one row per day, or both tables one after the other. Numbers such as impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks.

Runs in your browser. Your export is not uploaded.

Words to find in your Pin titles, with commas. Left empty, we use words that appear in several titles.

Our measure. Boards, topics and days with fewer are marked, not ranked.

Press Copy code.

The code is a frame with the tool in it, plus a short credit line that links to the tool's page.

In your website's editor, add an HTML block where you want the tool, and paste the code.

In WordPress, that's the Custom HTML block.

If the tool needs more room, change the height in the code.

Publish the page, and the tool works on your site.

Here, it's on a sample page for a made-up sweet shop.

Visitors use it right there. It sets no cookies, and sends nothing they type to us.

The credit line under it links to the tool on DigitalSnot.

You can embed as many of our free browser tools as you like.

About the Pinterest Analytics Analyzer

Open or paste the CSV you export from Pinterest Analytics, with one row per Pin, one row per day, or both. The tool matches the columns it knows (impressions, saves, Pin clicks, outbound clicks, the date, the Pin and its board), and you can pick any column yourself. You get the totals with save rate and outbound click rate, the top Pins by outbound clicks and by saves, the days of the week that did best, the boards or topic words that work, Pins that were seen a lot but clicked little, and a summary for each month to copy, plus a CSV of every Pin with its rates. It runs in your browser: your export is not uploaded.

The rates, and where they come from

Pinterest Help defines save rate as saves ÷ impressions and outbound click rate as outbound clicks ÷ impressions, and the tool uses the same formulas. Pin click rate is Pin clicks ÷ impressions, our measure. Pinterest counts outbound clicks only from the date a link was added to a Pin. The formulas are shown next to the results.

Seen a lot, clicked little

Our measure picks out Pins with at least the middle number of impressions in your file whose outbound click rate is under half your account's rate. They already reach people, so a clearer headline on the image, a better title or a closer match between the Pin and the page it opens are worth trying first (our suggestions). Boards and topic words are compared the same way, and groups with very few Pins are marked rather than ranked.

What this tool cannot do

It cannot sign in to Pinterest or fetch your numbers: it reads the export you give it. Pinterest does not publish the exact column names of its CSV, so check the columns the tool matched. Best days show the days your activity or your Pins did best in your own file, not a rule for Pinterest. There are no benchmarks: your Pins are compared with each other and with your own earlier months.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export my Pinterest Analytics?

Pinterest Help says to open Analytics, choose the date range and filters, and select Export at the top right, which saves the data for those filters as a CSV file. You need a business account to see Pin stats. Open the CSV here, or copy the table from a spreadsheet and paste it.

What is a good save rate on Pinterest?

Pinterest does not publish a good save rate, and we do not quote averages from other sources. Compare your own Pins with each other and your months with each other: the tool ranks your Pins and shows each month's change.

What is the difference between Pin clicks and outbound clicks?

In Pinterest's definitions, Pin clicks are clicks that open your Pin in close-up, and outbound clicks are clicks that take people to the Pin's link on your website. Outbound clicks are the ones that bring visits to your site, so the tool ranks top Pins by them first.

My file has a row for each day, not each Pin. Does it work?

Yes. With daily rows you get totals, best days of the week and a summary for each month. With a row for each Pin you also get top Pins, boards and Pins that were seen a lot but clicked little. If your export has both tables, paste them together and the tool reads each one.

Is my export uploaded?

No. The file is read in your browser and the numbers are worked out there. Nothing is sent to us or to Pinterest, and the tool never signs in to your account.
