About the Product Photo Checker

Open your product photos and choose where they will go: the Amazon.in main image or other images, Flipkart, Meesho, Google Merchant Center or your own shop. For each photo the tool reads the pixel size, shape, file size and real file format, and measures how white the background is round the edges and how much of the frame the product fills. You get a fix, improve or pass list for every photo and place, with what to change, and a CSV of the results. It runs in your browser: your photos are not uploaded.

The rules we check

Amazon.in asks for images at least 500 pixels on the longest side and up to 10,000, with 1,000 pixels or more on each side for zoom; it prefers JPEG and also accepts TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF. Amazon's guides ask for a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255) on the main image and a product that fills at least 85% of the frame, with no text, logos, watermarks or borders. Google Merchant Center accepts JPEG, WebP, PNG, non-animated GIF, BMP and TIFF up to 16 MB and 64 megapixels, needs at least 100 x 100 pixels (250 x 250 for clothing), and 500 x 500 for all products from 31 January 2027. Flipkart asks for high-resolution photos on a white background from several angles, and Meesho for JPEG photos without logos or watermarks.

How we measure the background and fill

These are our measures, not the marketplaces' own checks. We read the pixels of a scaled-down copy of the photo. The background figure is the share of pixels in a thin band round the edge that are pure white (255, 255, 255) or near white. The fill is the size of the box round everything that differs from the background, as a share of the frame along its longer side. The file format is read from the first bytes of the file, not from its name. On a busy or patterned background we cannot find the product, and the tool says so.

What this tool cannot do

It cannot see text, logos, watermarks, props or a blurred photo, so those checks are reminders for you to look. A light product on a white background, or a soft shadow, can make the fill figure a little off. Flipkart and Meesho publish few numbers on their public seller pages, so their size checks are our suggestion, and category rules in Seller Central, Seller Hub or the Supplier Panel can be stricter. It does not sign in to any seller account or upload anything.

Frequently asked questions

What size should an Amazon.in product image be?

Amazon.in asks for at least 500 pixels on the longest side and no more than 10,000. For zoom, it says height and width should be 1,000 pixels or more. JPEG is preferred; TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF are also accepted. The tool checks each photo against these figures.

Does the main image need a white background?

On Amazon, yes: its guides ask for a pure white background, RGB 255, 255, 255, on the main image, with the product filling at least 85% of the frame. Flipkart's seller guide also asks for product images on a white background. Meesho's public pages do not ask for one. The tool measures the edges of each photo to estimate how white the background is.

What image size does Google Merchant Center need?

Today Google needs at least 100 x 100 pixels, or 250 x 250 for clothing, and files up to 16 MB and 64 megapixels. From 31 January 2027 it needs at least 500 x 500 pixels for all products. Do not enlarge a small photo to reach the size; use a bigger original. Google also asks for clean images without promotional text, watermarks or added logos.

Why does the tool say my file is really a different format?

The tool reads the first bytes of the file, which show what it really is, and compares them with the file name. A JPEG photo renamed to .png is a common case. Google asks that the file extension matches the real format, so rename the file or save it again in the right format.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photos are opened and measured in your browser, on your device, and are not sent anywhere. The tool does not sign in to Seller Central, Seller Hub or the Meesho Supplier Panel, and it does not change your listings.
