About the Influencer Campaign Calculator

List the creators you are thinking of, with their followers, average views, reach, likes and comments and the fee each one quoted, plus GST and any free products. You get each creator's cost per view, cost per engagement and cost per 1,000 reach, with the formulas shown, a side-by-side comparison, the mix of creators that gives the most for your budget, and after the campaign the cost per click and per sale from the results you add. It also reminds you of ASCI's disclosure rules and TDS on free products. It runs in your browser and never signs in to anyone's account.

How the numbers are worked out

The cost of each creator is the fee, plus GST when you count it, plus the value of any free products. Expected views, engagements and reach are the creator's averages a post times the posts in the deal, and engagements are likes plus comments. Cost per view, cost per engagement and cost per 1,000 reach divide the cost by those figures. These are our measures: no platform publishes one formula, and the tool compares creators only with each other, never with industry rates.

Disclosure and tax

ASCI counts money, free products and discounts as a material connection, so every post needs a label such as Ad, Collaboration or Free gift upfront, with Instagram's paid partnership label as well, and the brand and the creator are both responsible. Free products a creator keeps are a benefit: TDS of 10% applies once benefits from you to one person cross ₹20,000 in a financial year, under section 393 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 from 1 April 2026. The GST rate and TDS on fees are for your CA to confirm.

What this tool cannot do

It cannot check a creator's numbers against their account, spot fake followers or predict how a post will do: the expected figures are only their past averages. It works on what you type, so ask creators for screenshots of their insights. The best mix looks only at your goal and budget, not at how well a creator suits your brand. It is a guide, not tax or legal advice.

Frequently asked questions

How do I work out cost per view for an influencer?

Divide what the creator costs you by the views you expect. For example, a fee of ₹15,000 plus ₹2,700 GST and ₹2,400 of free products is ₹20,100; with 21,500 average views on one reel, that is about ₹0.93 a view. The tool works this out for every creator, with cost per engagement and per 1,000 reach, and shades the best in your list.

What is a good cost per view or engagement rate?

We do not publish one, because it changes with the platform, the niche, the city and the kind of post. The tool compares the creators you enter with each other and flags anyone whose cost per view is more than twice the median of your list (our measure). Your own past campaigns are the best guide.

How does the best mix for my budget work?

It looks at every combination of your creators and picks the one that gives the most views, engagements or reach, whichever you chose, without going over the budget. With more than 22 creators it picks the best value first instead. Click "Use this mix as my plan" to tick those creators, then change it as you like.

Do influencers need to label posts for my brand?

Yes. ASCI counts payment, free products, discounts and gifts as a material connection and asks for a label such as Ad, Sponsored, Collaboration, Partnership or Free gift, upfront and not lost among hashtags, plus the platform's own tool such as Instagram's paid partnership label. Under ASCI's guidelines the brand and the creator are both responsible, so put it in your brief.

Do I deduct TDS on free products given to influencers?

A business that gives benefits, such as products the creator keeps, deducts TDS at 10% of their value once the total to that person crosses ₹20,000 in a financial year. A product returned after the shoot is not a benefit, according to CBDT Circular 12/2022. From 1 April 2026 the rule sits in section 393 of the Income-tax Act, 2025. For TDS on fees and the GST rate, ask your CA.
