About the Stock Reorder Point Calculator
Type each product's average and highest sales a day, how long your supplier takes, and your stock in hand and on order, or paste them as a CSV. The tool works out the safety stock, the reorder point, how many days your stock lasts, the date to place the next order and how much to order for the period you choose. Add a festival or sale rise for a date range and it is counted in. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded and no seller account is connected.
What the reorder point means
The reorder point is the stock level at which you place the next order, so that new stock arrives before you run out. It is the sales you expect while you wait for the supplier, plus safety stock for a busy spell or a late delivery. The tool compares it with your stock in hand plus what is already on order, and finds the day the two meet.
The formulas, as our measure
Safety stock is most sales in a day × the longest wait, minus average sales a day × the usual wait, or a fixed number of days of average sales if you prefer. The order quantity covers the wait and the cover period you choose, plus safety stock, minus the stock you hold. These are the usual stock-planning formulas, not a rule from any marketplace, and every result shows how it was worked out.
What this tool cannot do
It only knows the figures you type. It does not read your stock in Seller Central, Seller Hub, the Meesho supplier panel or your shop, does not know about returns that go back into stock, supplier minimum orders, pack sizes or storage limits, and cannot predict demand. The festival rise is your own estimate. Check each order against your cash and space before you place it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find my average and highest sales a day?
Our suggestion: take the units sold over the last 30 to 90 days from your seller panel or sales sheet and divide by the number of days. For the highest, use the most units you sold on one day in that time, leaving out one-off bulk orders. If one stock serves several marketplaces and your own shop, add their sales together.
What is safety stock and how much do I need?
Safety stock is extra stock kept for days when you sell more than usual or the supplier is late. The busiest-day method sizes it from your own highest sales and longest wait; the fixed-days method keeps the number of days you choose. More safety stock means fewer stock-outs but more money tied up in stock.
What lead time should I use?
Count the days from placing an order to having the stock ready to sell: the supplier's making and dispatch time, transport, and any time you need to check, label and pack it. For the longest wait, use the slowest delivery you have had recently.
How does the festival rise work?
Type the extra sales you expect as a percentage, and the dates. On those days every product's average and highest sales go up by that percentage, so orders placed before the festival include the extra stock. Pick a festival to fill in its dates from our Seasonal Content Calendar, and move the start earlier if your orders for it came in early last year.
Can I plan stock that is kept in a marketplace warehouse?
Yes, as its own row. If part of your stock sits in a marketplace's warehouse, add a row for it with the sales from that marketplace and the days it takes for new stock to reach the warehouse and go on sale. Stock you keep yourself for other channels goes in a separate row.
