How it works
-
Choose a personal profile banner or a Company Page cover, then type your name, tagline, services and website or phone. Or try the example.
-
Pick a design and colours, and add your logo if you want it on the banner. Switch the preview between safe areas, a computer and a phone.
-
Read the checks, shorten anything that was cut or looks too small, and download the banner as PNG or JPEG. Then upload it from your LinkedIn profile or Page.
About the LinkedIn Banner Maker
Choose a personal profile banner or a Company Page cover, type your name, a tagline, up to four services and your website or phone, and add a logo from your device if you like. Pick one of six designs drawn in code and your colours, and the banner is drawn at the size LinkedIn Help gives: 1584 × 396 pixels for a profile, 4200 × 700 for a Page. The preview shows where the profile photo or Page logo sits on a computer and on a phone, the text is checked for contrast and for its size on a phone, and you download the banner as PNG or JPEG. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and it never signs in to LinkedIn.
The sizes and where they come from
LinkedIn Help recommends 1584 × 396 pixels for the background photo of a personal profile, as JPG or PNG and under 8 MB. For a Company Page cover it gives 4200 × 700 pixels as both the minimum and the recommended size, as PNG or JPEG and up to 3 MB, and says the cover may be trimmed to fit the screen, so key details belong in the centre, away from the edges and especially the lower-right corner. The tool makes files at exactly these sizes and shows each file's size before you download it.
Keeping the text clear and readable
On a profile, your photo sits over the lower left of the banner; on a Page, the logo does. The tool keeps your text to the right of the photo on a profile banner and in the centre of a Page cover, and marks where the photo and logo sat on a computer and on a phone when we built it (our measure). It checks the contrast between the text and what is behind it against the 4.5:1 and 3:1 levels in W3C's WCAG, and how big the text looks on a phone about 390 pixels wide (our measure).
What this tool cannot do
It does not sign in to LinkedIn, upload the banner or change your profile: you upload the file yourself. LinkedIn does not publish exactly where the photo and logo sit, and it changes with screen size and app version, so look at the banner on your own profile after uploading it. It uses no photos and no AI: the designs are patterns and shapes drawn in code. Your logo stays in the open tab and is not saved, so open it again next time.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a LinkedIn banner?
LinkedIn Help recommends 1584 × 396 pixels (4:1) for the background photo of a personal profile, as JPG or PNG and under 8 MB. A Company Page cover is 4200 × 700 pixels (6:1), as PNG or JPEG and up to 3 MB. The tool makes both at exactly these sizes.
Why does my profile photo cover part of the banner?
LinkedIn shows your profile photo over the lower left of the background photo. Keep your text on the right, as the tool does, and look at the "Computer" and "Phone" previews. Where the photo sits is our measure and changes with screen size and app version.
Where should text go on a Company Page cover?
In the centre. LinkedIn Help says the cover may be trimmed to fit the screen and asks you to keep key details away from the edges, especially the lower-right corner. The tool keeps your text in the middle half of the cover and marks that corner on the safe areas preview.
Should I download PNG or JPEG?
LinkedIn takes both. PNG keeps flat colours and small text crisp; JPEG usually gives a smaller file. The tool shows both file sizes and tells you if one is over LinkedIn's limit: under 8 MB for a profile banner, up to 3 MB for a Page cover.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser draws the banner on your device and makes the downloads there too. The logo stays in the open tab and is not saved; the text fields are kept in this browser so they are filled in next time. Nothing is sent to our server or to LinkedIn.

Rules last checked
The LinkedIn Banner Maker follows these official pages:
- Add or change the background photo on your profile (linkedin.com)
- Image specifications for your LinkedIn Pages and Career Pages (linkedin.com)
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2: Contrast (Minimum) (w3.org)
LinkedIn does not publish where the profile photo and Page logo sit over the banner, so the zones kept clear are our measure.
