This is the Product CSV Builder for Shopify and WooCommerce.

Turn your product list into a Shopify or WooCommerce import CSV, with variants, SKUs and checks.

Choose Shopify or WooCommerce, type your brand name and a SKU pattern,

then add each product with its options,

or paste a spreadsheet. Press Try an example to see three sample kurtis.

Or press Try an example to fill in sample details.

Open a product's variants to change the price, stock or SKU of one size or colour,

and fix what the checks flag, worst first.

Download the CSV, import two or three products first and check them in your shop,

then import the rest.

It does not sign in to Shopify or WordPress, upload photos or create products for you: you import the file yourself.

It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.

Use {product} (the product's code), {size}, {colour}, {option1} to {option3} and {n} (the variant's number), for example NT-{product}-{colour}-{size}.

Your products

Type each product once with its options. The tool makes a variant for every combination, such as each size in each colour, and you can change the price, stock or SKU of one variant.

Paste or open a spreadsheet

A header row with these words works best: name, description, price, MRP or compare-at price, SKU, stock, weight, category, tags, image links, and a column for each option, such as Size and Colour. Rows with the same name become one product with variants. Loading replaces the products above.

About the Product CSV Builder for Shopify and WooCommerce

Type your products, or paste a simple spreadsheet, with their price, MRP, SKU, stock, weight, category, tags, photo links and options such as size and colour. The tool makes a variant for every combination, builds SKUs from a pattern such as NT-{product}-{colour}-{size} and handles from the names, and writes an import CSV in Shopify's product CSV format or for WooCommerce's built-in product importer. Before you download, it checks for repeated SKUs and handles, missing prices, an MRP below the price, photo links that are not https and weights without a unit. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded and it does not sign in to your shop.

How the Shopify file is laid out

Shopify needs a title for every new product, and a handle when a product has variants: rows with the same handle are one product. A product can have up to 3 options, such as size and colour, and each combination of values is a variant on its own row. The first row carries the product's details and its first photo, and each extra photo gets a row with the handle. Photo links must be files anyone can open, and a photo Shopify cannot fetch is skipped without a message. Weights go in grams. The column names are those in Shopify's sample product CSV; Shopify's help page now shows newer names for a few columns, such as URL handle, so compare with a fresh sample if your import asks for other headers.

How the WooCommerce file is laid out

The file follows WooCommerce's built-in product importer. A product without options is one simple row. A product with options is a variable row that lists every value of each attribute, followed by one variation row per combination, each with its own SKU and the parent's SKU in the Parent column. Published is 1 for live and -1 for draft, a stock figure turns on stock management, categories use > for a sub-category, and the first image link is the main photo. Weights are numbers in your store's weight unit. With an MRP above your price, the MRP goes in Regular price and your price in Sale price.

What this tool cannot do

It does not sign in to Shopify or WordPress, upload photos or create products for you: you import the file yourself. It is built for new products; on a re-import, Shopify clears values in blank columns and makes new variant IDs when option values change. It does not fill Shopify's product category, barcodes, SEO fields or Merchant Center attributes, and it does not check your descriptions. The https, photo and weight checks are our checklist. It makes up to 100 variants per product, and WooCommerce's paid Product CSV Import Suite uses a different format.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add sizes and colours as variants in a Shopify CSV?

Give the product an option name and values, for example Size with S, M, L, XL and Colour with Indigo, Mustard. Shopify allows up to 3 options, and each combination is a variant on its own row with the same handle; the option names go on the first row only. This tool writes those rows for you, with a SKU, price and stock for each variant.

Which columns does a Shopify product CSV need?

For a new product, Shopify's help page says only the title is required, plus the handle when you add variants. In practice you also want the price, SKU, options, stock and photo links. This tool writes the full set of columns from Shopify's sample product CSV and leaves the ones it does not use blank, such as barcode and SEO title.

How does a WooCommerce CSV link variations to their product?

The parent row has Type variable and lists every attribute value, such as "S, M, L". Each variation row has Type variation, its own unique SKU, one value for each attribute, and the parent's SKU in the Parent column. If a variation is missing after the import, check that its SKU is unique and that its attribute names and values match the parent's.

Where do the MRP and the selling price go?

In Shopify, your price goes in Variant Price and the MRP in Variant Compare At Price, which shows crossed out. In WooCommerce, the MRP goes in Regular price and your price in Sale price. If the MRP is lower than the price, the tool leaves it out and flags it: Google Merchant Center also needs a sale price lower than the regular price. Our suggestion is to show an MRP only if it is the real MRP printed on the pack.

Can I upload product photos with the CSV?

Not from your computer. The CSV holds links to photos that are already online, and the shop fetches them during the import. Use links anyone can open, starting with https://. A photo Shopify cannot fetch is skipped without a message, so check each product after the import, or add photos in your shop admin later.
